After what feels like the longest winter ever, summer is finally just around the corner! It’s time to come out of hibernation and celebrate all this great country has to offer. Summer is short, which means you have no time to waste.

To get you started, we’ve put together a list of some cool road trips within a few hours of Toronto. So round up your BFF’s and get exploring!

1) Prince Edward County

If “long walks on the beach” are your thing, you need to go to Prince Edward County this summer! Prince Edward County is home to Sandbanks Provincial Park, which boasts of three beautiful beaches: Dunes Beach, Outlet Beach and Sandbanks Beach. While you’re there, check out the Drake Devonshire. You’ve probably heard of the Drake Hotel in Toronto, well this is its Prince Edward County sister. It’s a cozy boutique hotel right on the water with great food and great drinks from local businesses. We literally can’t think of a better way to spend a weekend.

2) Tobermory

#Gorgeous #Incredible #Stunning is how you’ll caption anything you post of Tobermory’s crystal blue waters.  If you can peel your eyes away from the view of the water, head over to Bruce Peninsula National Park and hike to The Grotto – a shoreline sea cave that’s definitely worth the 30 minute trek from the parking lot. Then, hop on a glass bottom boat cruise to check out sunken shipwrecks and venture over to Flower Pot Island to take a selfie with the two giant rock pillars that give the island its name. It’s unbelievable how many photo ops you’ll find on your visit to Tobermory!

3) Niagara Falls

The falls are an attraction all on their own and the perfect place to pose for a selfie, but if you need another reason to visit Niagara Falls, how about endless arcades on Clifton Hill or multiple casinos to bet your luck at? Or, if you’re feeling gutsy, test your agility at WildPlay’s Whirlpool Adventure Course where you can catch your thrills zip lining and swinging through their sky-high obstacle courses.

4) Gananoque

Sitting on the beautiful shoreline of the Saint Lawrence River, Gananoque is the perfect place for a mini vacay away from the city.  You and your squad can get a bird’s eye view of the 1000 Islands on a helicopter tour or catch a boat cruise to experience their beauty up close. When you’re finished soaking in the scenery, hit up the Shorelines Casino and try to score some extra cash.

5) Blue Mountain Village

  1. Blue Mountain Village is the perfect place to add some adventure to your IG feed.  Test your fear of heights with a gondola trip to the top of the mountains to explore scenic caves, spend an afternoon rock climbing at one of their outdoor walls or go zip lining at Wind Rider Triple Zips. Once you and your BFFs have finished everything you’ve been able to talk each other into, reward your bravery with some pampering at Scandinave Spa.
