With just an acoustic guitar sharing the stage, Ed belted out the lyrics to ‘Shivers’ and ‘Overpass Graffiti.’

Ed revealed on Instagram (Oct. 24) he tested positive for COVID-19, “Hey guys. Quick note to tell you that I’ve sadly tested positive for Covid, so I’m now self-isolating and following government guidelines.  It means that I’m now unable to plough ahead with any in person commitments for now, so I’ll be doing as many of my planned interviews/performances I can from my house,” he wrote.

Making an appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Ed admitted, “I tested for COVID and I announced it a couple days afterward, because I had to cancel stuff, basically. But it’s quite an odd thing, getting that and then having to announce it to the world, and then suddenly… Like, I’m now out of it now, and I’m still sort of being treated…”

“Like you have it,” Stern said.  “Yeah. It’s kind of an uncomfortable… I really didn’t want to announce it to everyone, but I had to cancel three big things in England, and I didn’t want to be rude and like ‘I just don’t want to turn up for this,'” Ed explained.

Howard then asked Ed, “Did you have heavy symptoms at all? I assume you were vaccinated,” Ed replied, “I was, yeah, but I was super ill and rundown before.  As soon as I got a cold, I just started testing every single day. I was just like, I want to make sure I don’t have it.  I was really, really, really rundown and then just one day I caught it [COVID-19].”

Ed recalls, “My wife was away, so, I was there with my daughter. Basically, it was me and my daughter for a week. She had it, too, so it was kind of heavy. Three days of really, really bad symptoms, I think.”
