Growing up in San Francisco, California, Golden Landis Von Jones, better known as 24kGoldn, attended Lowell High School.  Throughout his childhood, Golden acted in various commercials and joined a choir in both middle and high school.  As he got older, he realized music is what he wanted to do, professionally.

Golden currently attends the University of Souther California.  As of spring of 2019, he joined the Beta-Sigma Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and shortly after, took a leave of absence to pursue his rap career.  Golden says, “I was not anticipating that things were going to happen as fast when I came to USC, and I didn’t think I would finish University, but I wanted to round off the school year to further develop the relationships I made.”  According to sources, Golden loved being on campus, and being a student kept him grounded.

Golden received his first record deal through a producer named D.A. Doman, and in 2019, released his high-energy record, ‘Valentino.’  The record accumulated over 100 million plays on Spotify, peaked at No.92 on the Billboard charts, and surpassed 375 million videos on TikTok.  In an interview released earlier this year, Golden revealed, “‘Valentino’ [and other records] were recorded over a year ago and don’t exactly reflect the person I have become since then.”  Golden is currently signed with LLC and Columbia Records.

How would you describe his music? As Golden puts it, “I never want to be constricted by one genre.  Depending on what song you listen to, my music can be described different ways.”  Although his first record deal didn’t come until 2019, his first music video, ‘Trappers Anthem,’ was released two years prior.

In November of 2019, Golden released his debut EP, Dropped Outta College and in 2020, released the single, ‘City of Angels.’

On August 11, 2020, Golden was included on XXL’s 2020 Freshman Class and after receiving the most fan votes, managed to place 10th on the list.

And you may also be familiar with this song – 24kGold is on ‘Tinted Eyes’ alongside DVBBS and blackbear.
