With today’s heavy climate surrounding COVID -19 and the world’s focus on racism specifically towards communities of colour, it is imperative more than ever to highlight Canadian women entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds.

The second edition of ‘How She Hustles’ comes at a great time, as a network focused on connecting more than 18,000 diverse female entrepreneurs is necessary through these troubling times. Founded by Emily Mills in 2010, and aligned with proud sponsor CIBC and exclusive media partner, Rogers Sports & Media, ‘How She Hustles’ has hosted a range of captivating events in Toronto for a decade now, which will now include the 10 year anniversary virtual celebration – an inspiring yearly brunch designed for women to share their entrepreneurial experiences and struggles throughout life. If you are familiar with the award-winning HERstory in Black multimedia project with CBC, that would be due to ‘How She Hustles’. Also, they have hosted a women’s economic roundtable with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and invited to meet former First Lady, Michelle Obama. Emily has been acknowledged by WXN Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women, 100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women and Ryerson University’s Alumni Achievement Awards.
