Ariana Grande is not here for her TikTok impersonators!

On Wednesday evening, Ariana reposted a series of videos from Jordan Firstman (actor, director), including a video which was titled, “This is my impression of a meme.”  In the video, Jordan is heard saying, “Ok, wait, wait, I have an idea.  What if we took a moment, like a small clip from a movie or TV show, something that an artist really poured their soul into … and we kind of, like, recontextualized it? Does that make sense? And we put a completely arbitrary meaning onto that thing that the artist loves so much? Kind of degrading its entire value?  I just think that be a fun, b****y thing to do.  I’m so bored.  I just wanna like, ruin someone’s life today.”

In a now deleted InstaStory, Ariana replied, “Can this please also double as your impression of the ponytail TikTok girls who think doing the Cat Valentine voice and that wearing winged eyeliner and a sweatshirt is doing a good impersonation of me … cause this really how it feels … ‘degrading it’s entire value’ I screamed.”

Last year, Ariana impersonators like Paige Niemann began popping up across social media.

In a response to a fan account, which posted one of Paige’s TikTok videos, Ariana wrote, “I just wonder why the cat voice / dialogue.  I am sure she is the sweetest sweet sweetheart forreal, but it’s definitely bizarre seeing people blend the two worlds.”

Ariana is known for playing red-haired Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon’s ‘Victorious’ and it seems even in 2020, people can’t get over Cat’s character or her laugh.

In December of 2019, Ariana addressed those who mimic the Cat laugh in a response to a Twitter fan page, “Most people do.  I feel like I’m living in some strange world where no one has ever heard me speak outside of that show.  But it’s all good.  She’s a fan and she is sweet.  The Cat laugh is indeed pretty good.”

Ariana also threw shade towards YouTuber Gaby DiMartino following the release of her ‘I Lived Like Ariana Grande for A Day Parody.”  Ari was quick to respond, “Yeah this ain’t it.”
