Back inh 1998, Disney released the soundtrack for the animated film, Mulan.  The soundtrack featured a song recorded by Christina Aguilera titled ‘Reflections.’  22 years later and with a live-action remake on the way, Christina has once again been asked to record yet another original tune for the Disney film.

The new record is called ‘Loyal Brave True’ and as Christina explains in a press release, “The film Mulan and the song ‘Reflection’ coincided with getting me my first record deal.  It’s amazing to come back to such an incredible movie that’s full of power and meaning, and that meaning holds the test of time: staying true to yourself, being who you are, and teaching how to be fearless. My new song, ‘Loyal Brave True,’ represents the fine balance between vulnerability and strength.”

Christina later wrote on Instagram, “Fighters! I have 2 songs, #LoyalBraveTrue and a reimagined version of #Reflection, on Disney’s new live action film, Mulan.  #Mulan has been such a special part of my life and this is a beautiful continuation of the legacy.”

During Disney’s D23 Expo that happened last fall, Christina was honoured as a Disney legend and shared this about Mulan and its soundtrack, 20 years later, “It’s so amazing how it truly is timeless.  It resonates now maybe more than ever because everybody wants to feel heard and comfortable in their own skin and accepted and loved.  It’s our message to truly be unafraid to take off that mask and reveal who you really are and own your truth.”

The soundtrack for Mulan is set to release on March 25 and the movie, starring Liu Yifei, will hit theatres on March 27!
