Then, in 2016, Tate auditioned for ‘So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation.’  Tate became a ‘main competitor on the show’ and shortly after, she ventured off to music and acting, voicing the role of the rag doll, Spot Splatter Splash in Nickelodeon’s Lalaloopsy.

Tate also has a new EP out now, it’s titled ‘All the Things I Never Said.’

The EP features 5 new tracks, including hew new single ‘Studio’ and ‘Tear Myself Apart,’ which was co-written by Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas.

Talking with our friend Zach Sang, Tate talks about her dance experience and how she incorporates dance into her music.  Watch below.

In a new interview with Wonderland Magazine, we learn more about Tate, why she wanted to pursue music and more.

WM:  When did you realize you wanted to pursue music?
TM:  “I feel like music has always just been a massive part of my life. I’ve been dancing, singing and performing since I was super young, so music has always been my influence for everything. But I would say when I posted my first original song out on YouTube was a big turning point for me. that was where my songwriting really began to click for me.”

WM:  How would you describe your genre?
TM:  “My genre is kinda all over the place, but if I were to put it into a category.  I’d say alternative pop. I definitely think my songs have a moodier vibe to them.”

WM:  Who did you grow up listening to?
TM:  “I grew up listening to a lot of different stuff. At a young age I definitely focused way more on what songs I liked in the moment rather than a specific artist, but I loved artists like Justin Bieber Rihanna, Drake…”

WM:  Who would you love to collaborate with?
TM:  ‘”d love to collaborate with someone like Khalid or Post Maline. That would just be a dream.”

WM:  What are you excited for next?
TM:  “I’m stoked about going on a second headlining tour in April, releasing lots more music and videos, and working on a lot of cool things at the moment. Can’t wait for everyone to hear the music I haven’t been able to put out for a long time.”
