To close out 2019, Demi Lovato got some new ink – an angel being held by doves.  Demi’s new tattoo has found its home in between her shoulder blades and who, you ask, is the artist behind this amazing work? His name is Alessandro Capozzi and he’s a Rome-based tattoo artist.

Alessandro posted two photos on his Instagram page, and the caption reads, “For the incredible Demi Lovato – ‘Divine Feminine’ – Destruction Effect XVIII.  We created this piece together to represent a rebirth of the spirit.  The dark wings represent the bad times, their fading away is how she moved forward.  The light from within represents the inner strength necessary for the change and the doves, pulling her up, symbolize the reach of an higher state of consciousness.  Congratulations on your inspiring journey Demi, honoured to have represented this for you.”

In the comment section, Demi writes, “Thank you so much.  It’s incredible and you are so extremely talented.”  This marks Demi’s second tattoo this month – earlier on, Dr. Woo (who is known for his work on Justin Bieber) tattooed the word ‘Survivor’ on Demi’s neck.  See below.

“Lost in herself” ???? The stories behind my costumers’ ideas is what inspires me everyday, what drives me to do my best and to bring them to life. Those untold stories are often extremely powerful and needs to be told. We need to grow stronger and get better as humans and we need to show others how our scars and dreams and hopes can create something unique and push us to do things we thought we weren’t capable of doing before. The tattoo will be the proof that will remind us what happened. Silently screaming to us how we faced it. How we overcame it. That is why I decided to share some of them with you, each story connected to a specific art piece on their skin. From their point of view. I will be doing this once a week. Are you excited? Short but powerful one: “I lost her. She wasn’t there anymore. Left without a warning. Then I found her again. She was always there. Always been there for me. I only had to look closer with different eyes. Through those curtains I created. My eyes, they weren’t enough.” Appointments: Link in Bio Done in @aureoroma
