After seeing all the videos and photos from last night’s Shawn Mendes concert, a piece of my heart is officially broken that I was.

Shawn Mendes took over the Rogers Centre last night performing in front of 55,000 screams fans, which marked his largest headlining show to date!

The biggest moment of the night was Shawn surprised fans by bringing out his girlfriend, Camila Cabello and together, they performed their smash hit ‘Senorita’.

 

 

In addition, to the surprise appearance from Camila, another big moment was when Shawn stopped the show, so his trainer Josh, could propose to his girlfriend.

 

 

Alessia Cara opened the night with a 45 minute set. When Shawn took the stage later in the night, he shared some kind words for his fellow Canadian, “Alessia is the most incredibly smart and talented, incredibly caring unbelievable person [who] gets on stage and rocks that show every single night.”  

During her set, Alessia broke down while telling the crowd it was such a dream come true to be performing at the Rogers Centre followed by, “I’m so out-of-body right now. I’m floating.”  Alessia continued, “Before I sing this next song, I just want to thank everybody that was part of this tour from tech, my whole crew, everybody, Shawn, everybody on this tour has been so incredible, thank you for opening up the stage for us.  “I’m sorry. I’m super emotional.”

 

Shawn, broke down too –  simply because he’s performing in his hometown and inside the biggest venue in the 6ix! “How are you guys doing out there? I just want to take a moment to say with all of my heart to every single person in this room, thank you so much for coming out,” he told the fans.

 

 

He continued, “Oh my God. This is just absolutely unbelievable. This place is so big!  This right now, this is not just mine. This stadium full of people is just as much yours to be proud of as it is mine. I love you guys so much, truly from the beginning, all your support. Thank you. I want everybody in this room to look around and be proud of this because this is special and I’m not doing this alone, I’m doing this with all of you. So thank you. Look around and be proud.”

Following the show, Alessia wrote the sweetest message and posted an adorable photo of her and Shawn.  Alessia writes, “There are good people, and then there are people who, if you could see into their core, have a million little particles of benevolence floating around in there. that is @shawnmendes.  His heart is as potent as his ambition and I learned so much from him these last few months, both on and off stage. tonight we played our 76th and final show of the SM tour (we took this pic show 1!!) and I feel so grateful. thank you to this guy and his team for sharing a piece of this tour with me and mine. I’m sad it’s over but so thankful to have been a part of something so special. thank you to every person in every crowd who welcomed my band and I with open arms and genuine love. performing for fans other than your own can be scary, but you all made it feel like home. won’t forget this one ever ever ever.”
