Normani also dropped a music video to accompany her new single and as Billboard explains, “The clip starts with a throwback to a young Normani drawing inspiration from her fave music TV show. Now all grown-up and wearing a top stamped with the year of her birth, 1996, Normani and a team of dancers throw a party in the streets of Los Angeles. They’re all seriously motivated.”

Talking to Rolling Stone about Motivation, Normani explains, “I recorded this song a while back.  I shot the video probably a month ago.  It’s an upbeat song.  It’s a feel good record.  I think that everybody will really love it.  It was the first opportunity that I had to have fun.”  Motivation is the follow up to Normani’s hit collaborations, Dancing With A Stranger with Sam Smith and Love Lies with Khalid.

And it looks like Normani is receiving a ton of support from her celeb friends.  Ariana Grande tweeted, “It’s almost six am where I am right now and my cheeks hurt from smiling, refreshing, watching a million times.  Enjoy this special moment.  My heart is so full for you!”

Normani responded, “I love you so much.  Thank you for believing in me the way that you have sis and for being my biggest cheerleader.  We got a smash.  I miss you too much.”

Charlie Puth says, “This is some superstar s**t.”

Kehlani tweets, “This is that s**t I wasn’t my daughter to have posters of in her room.”

And Lizzo tweets, “Houston girls are just ….”

And now we just need an album and we’re good!
