According to multiple reports, MVP Kawhi Leonard will sign with the LA Clippers, at $142 million/year for 4 years!

As NBA.com reported, “The news, which was first reported by Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, will have a tremendous effect on the league.  Leonard, a 28-year old forward, is coming off a championship campaign in his only season with the Toronto Raptors, earning his second NBA Finals MVP in the process.”

 

 

Throughout the regular season, Kawhi averaged: 26.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.8 steals in 34.0 minutes and across 60 games.  According to NBA.com, “Leonard ultimately finished the postseason with 732 points, the third-highest total in the history of the NBA playoffs, trailing only Michael Jordan and LeBron James.”

And Kawhi isn’t the only Raptor saying goodbye to Toronto – so is Danny Green! Across his social media platforms, Danny posted, “I would just like to announce that for the next two years, I will be teaming up with my new teammates in L.A., the Los Angeles Lakers.  Looking forward to playing those guys.  Should be great.”

Danny continues, “I had a fun time in the city of Toronto, love the organization.  Thank you guys.  Thank you to my teammates.  Thank you to the fans.  Always have a great place in my heart.  Never forget obviously the historic run we had.  L.A., here I come.  I’m excited.  Let’s get this show on the road.”  Throughout last season, Danny averaged 10.3 points and 4.0 rebounds.

 

 

Prior to Danny’s announcement, he tweeted, “Thank you, Raptors fans.  This is a run we’ll never forget.  We can’t thank you enough for the love and support we experienced over the last year.  You are some of the greatest fans basketball have to offer.  Thank you #WeTheNorth.”
