There’s a new prince in town – and it’s NOT Justin Bieber!

According to Observer Magazine, with Shawn Mendes on the cover, they have pronounced him to be the ‘prince of pop’ – a title Justin Bieber ‘apparently’ had once-upon-a-time ago and well, he just got dethroned by the Pickering cutie.

Justin was quick to write a comment underneath Shawn’s cover photo (which, might I add, looks heavenly).  Justin writes, “Hmm.  Gonna have to break a few more records to dethrone my title there bud (Canadian voice) … but if you want we can play hockey for it but I heard your a real bender on the ice.  We could just drop the buckets and tilt for it.”

To which Shawn replied, “LOL any time any day you just let me know!!!”

Following the hilarious (and so Canadian) online exchange, fans quickly came to Shawn’s defence, and even began arguing with the Biebs.  Justin then wrote in the comments, “There is no competition and it was a playful joke people relax … there’s no sides we’re all just here to make dope music.  I’m just competitive as is he so it was just a little playful jargon.”  Back in 2015 when Shawn initially dropped ‘Stitches,’ Justin commented, “Shawn I checked out the music and I’m so proud! So glad to see another boy from Canada crushin it. #canadiansdoitbetter.”

If Justin keeps his words and does make a comeback, it’ll be a shock to everyone.  Just last month, Justin wrote a lengthy Instagram message, explaining to the fans how he was breaking from music to concentrate on himself and his family.  Either way, Justin did say something I totally agree with – CANADIANS DO IT BETTER!
