Jussie Smollet, Empire star, who was formally charged with 16 counts of disorderly conduct, had these charges dropped late morning on March 26.

Jussie was accused of staging a hate crime and filing a false police report on January 29. His attorneys Tina Glandian and Patricia Brown Holmes released a statement that reads “He was a victim who was vilified and made to appear as a perpetrator as a result of false and inappropriate remarks made to the public, causing an inappropriate rush to judgment.”

He plead not guilty to the charges that the grand jury indicted him with earlier this month, which was 16 felony counts of disorderly conduct.

Another comment from his attorneys on his state currently, “Jussie is relieved to have this situation behind him and is very much looking forward to getting back to focusing on his family, friends and career.”

With all the drama surrounding Jussie based on his alleged attack, he has been criticized heavily through social media and his peers. He has also lost many career opportunities – including being cut from this season’s finale of Empire. There may need to be quite a few apologies given back to him once this incident settles and the truth is completely revealed.

This story is still developing, but so far – seems to be more exciting than Empire – the fictional show we know him from!
