And just today, both Jennifer and Alex shared a series of beautiful photos from their proposal which took place on the beach and the background in each photo is just everything! Look below.

Following the news of their engagement, Jennifer posted this sweet message on her Instagram Story.  The message reads, “There aren’t many words to share with you, only feelings. Gratitude. Excitement. And just… joy. We know there is work to do to keep building a family and future we can be proud of, and we can’t do it without all of you. We are so thankful for all your messages of love and congratulations.”

The couple have been dating for exactly two years and according to a source, they told Entertainment Tonight Jennifer didn’t see the proposal coming, “Jennifer was shocked as the two talked about marriage, but she wasn’t aware he’d be proposing that day.  Both Alex and Jennifer have been married before, and official wedding planning hasn’t started, but the two do want to celebrate the day with their family and famous friends.”

The source continues, “The couple loves to entertain and have fun, and their wedding will be nothing short of incredible.  Their kids will play a big part in their wedding, as they were a driving force in the proposal.”  Jennifer shares 11-year old twins Emme and Maximillian with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony and Alex has two daughters of his own – he shares 14-year old Natasha and 10-year old Ella with his ex-wife, Cynthia Scurtis.
