Disney released a trailer for their upcoming live-action ‘Aladdin’ movie and while the movie itself looks amazing, people are somehow terrified by the blue genie, played by Will Smith.

We first see Will as the Genie in the trailer when Aladdin rubs the lamp.  We hear Will say, “You really don’t know who I am? Genie, wishes, lamp…none of that is ringing a bell?” The new trailer debuted during the GRAMMY Awards on Sunday night and well, take a look at what people had to say about the Genie below.

According to CNN, “This is not the first time Smith has faced criticism for taking on the iconic character from the 1992 hit animated film. When Entertainment Weekly published a cover with a first look of the actor as Genie, originally voiced by Robin Williams, some fans were upset that he wasn’t blue.  Smith responded on Instagram that he would indeed be blue in the final film, “I’m gonna be BLUE! This is how the Genie is in Human/Disguise Form. My character will be CGI most of the movie.””

The live-action film is directed by Guy Ritchie and will star Navid Negahnban (Sultan), Naomi Scott (Jasmine), Frank Welker will voice Abu, Marwen Kenzari (Jafar), Mena Massoud (Aladdin) and of course, Will Smith as the iconic Genie.

‘Aladdin’ will hit theatres on May 24!
