Halsey not only hosted but performed on last night’s SNL episode (and killed it might I had) but during her amazing performance of ‘Without Me,’ fans were quick to catch the shade being thrown towards her ex-boyfriend, G-Eazy!

Let’s look at a quick timeline – Halsey and G were together for a year before breaking up last July because rumour had it, he was cheating! They got back again once more and well, that didn’t last because they called it quits AGAIN in October.  While Halsey performed her number one song last night, she set up the stage to have a background filled with writing.  The biggest line of them all, “I’m so sorry Ashley.  I cheated,” I mean, how could you miss that?  Other lines included, “In Minneapolis,” “At home in Los Angeles,” “In Austin,” “In New Orleans,” “In Boston,” “NYC,” “London,” “Chicago” and “More places I can’t even remember!” Damn, G was a busy man on the road!

During her interview with Glamour, Halsey did confirm ‘Without Me’ is in fact about G-Eazy.  Glamour writer Michelle Lhooq described Halsey’s thought process, “After her breakup with G-Eazy, she felt immense pressure to comment publicly because she’d been so transparent about her life in the past.  She thought to herself, ‘So how are you going to do it?’ ‘Are you going to stream live and start talking about everything?’ “Are you going to go on a Twitter rant?’ ‘Are you going to flag off on him on TMZ?’ “Or are you going to make a song?'”  Halsey explained, “The biggest lesson I learned was to make art, not headlines because it can become quite easy, in the social media generation, to go from being a musician to becoming a personality.”

During her SNL night, Halsey performed ‘Eastside,’ a collaboration she has with Benny Blanco and Khalid.  Watch below!
