If you ever wondered what it would be like to work with Shawn Mendes during a video shoot, look no further!

Shawn released BTS footage from his ‘Lost In Japan’ music video.

If Shawn’s new video looks familiar, that’s because it’s a tribute to Lost In Translation, a classic starring Bill Murray.

As Billboard explains, “Mendes, who teamed up with Zedd for a funky remix of the tune, released some behind-the-scenes footage of how he incorporated every detail of the famous romcom into his vid, from a green silky robe and white slippers to a hallway with zebra-striped walls.”

Prior to the single’s release, Shawn says, “When we decided to make ‘Lost In Japan’ the next single, I wanted to do an exciting remix for the song, and with Zedd being a good friend and such an amazing artist, it felt natural to ask him to collaborate on it.  What he did with it is so incredible and I’m so excited for the world to hear it.”

Zedd says, “I was really excited when Shawn asked me to work on a new version of ‘Lost In Japan.’  I tried to fuse both of our worlds together and bring us both to a place we wouldn’t have gone to by ourselves.  It’s my favourite song from the album so it was super fun to put my own touch to it.  We’ve been friends for a while, and we actually tried to work together for way too long.  This has just been a great opportunity because it is my favourite song from his album.  They were looking for a new version of it, so I was like, ‘I’m still here.'”
