Once upon a time, Ariana Grande hinted on social media that she would NOT be touring for her latest album, Sweetener.

The news initially broke when a fan commented, “Why buy the iPhones when you can save that money for Meet & Greet for Ariana’s next tour?” on Ariana’s Instagram page.  Ariana then responded with, “U gonna be saving for a looooong time” and a week later, her team released a statement on her behalf explaining, “Given the events of the past couple of years, Ariana is going to take some much needed time to heal and mend. She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding.”

Sweetener was the followup to Ariana’s Dangerous Woman album which was released in 2016.  These tweets came weeks after Ariana shared a snippet from a song that she’s been working on.
