Calling ALL OITNB fans … it saddens me to announce this BUT OITNB is coming to an end.

According to Deadline, the seventh season, which will be the show’s last, will air sometime in summer 2019.

Longtime cast members including Laura Prepon, Taylor Schilling, Adrienne C. Moore, Natasha Lyonne, Kate Mulgrew, Uzo Aduba, Danielle Brooks and more were part of an online video which officially broke the news about the show’s cancellation.

Uza Aduba who plays Suzanne promises, “Season 7, you will not be disappointed.  It is the season you will not forget and we’re going to give you everything and more that you could have ever wanted” and Kate Mulgrew aka ‘Red’ says, “I’m going to miss playing and living on the edge of one of the most groundbreaking, original and controversial series of this decade.”

The series was created by Jenji Kohan and it came into our lives back in 2013.  According to Rolling Stone, “By its second season, it became Netflix’s most-watched series. The first five seasons took place in Litchfield Penitentiary, a minimum-security federal prison. Following a prison riot that comprised the fifth season, several inmates were transferred to Litchfield’s maximum-security facility where Season Six took place.”

In a statement, Jenji explains, “After seven seasons, it’s time to be released from prison.  I will miss all the badass ladies of Litchfield and the incredible crew we’ve worked with. My heart is orange but fade to black.”

To the ladies of Litchfield, you will be greatly missed!
