In a letter Liam posted online, he explained to fans why an EP is dropping before a full-length album.  He also says that his album was finished some time ago however, things in his life took a turn, “As you may know, the last few months have seen some big changes for me … I looked at some of the songs on my album which were done a while ago and they felt from another age.  I’m determined for my debut album to truly represent me.  I’m not back in the studio working hard to finalize the final few songs on the record – I’m genuinely excited about the music I’m writing and recording and I can’t wait for it to be ready for you all.  In the meantime, this EP is a collection of songs that I’m really proud of and want you all to hear … tell me what you think.  As always, thanks for your support – it means the world to me.”

Although Liam didn’t go into detail about these life changes (and really, he doesn’t have to!) but it’s obvious he’s referencing his breakup with Cheryl Tweedy.  The couple dated for two years and share a son, Bear, who was born in March of 2017.

His EP called ‘First Time’ will be released on August 24 and will include the title track which features French Montana.

Prior to the EP, Liam released several songs including ‘Strip That Down’ with Quavo from Migos, ‘Bedroom Floor’, ‘For You’ with Rita Ora, ‘Get Low’ with Zedd and ‘Familia’ with J Balvin – which will most likely all appear on his debut  studio album.
