The self-proclaimed, “Queen of Hip-Hop” Nicki Minaj is back with two hot new tracks that have her Barbz rejoicing that their Queen is back.

On Thursday, Nicki released “Barbie Tingz” and “Chun-Li” which will be part of a forthcoming project from the Queens rapper.

If you just take a look at the names of these two Nicki records, “Barbie Tingz” appears to be a nod to her fans (whom she affectionately calls her “barbz”), and on the record, Nicki GOES IN.

She lets it be known that she’s the Queen of Rap and won’t hear anything else,

“Let’s be real, all you b***hes wanna look like me / Wanna be in demand, get booked like me / Wanna run up in the lab and cook like me / But ain’t nan you hoes p***y good like me / P***y so good his ex wanna still fight me / Face so pretty b***hes wish they could slice me”

She also shouts out her fellow label mates, Drake and Lil Wayne,

“If I ain’t sign to Wayne’s perfectly designed crew / ‘Cause we the big 3, don’t need a big speech / We made the biggest impact, check the spreadsheet / That’s Lil Weezy, the Barbie and Drizzy Drake / N***as gettin’ more cheese, kissy face.”

“Chun-Li” is a different story. It is the same name of the popular female fighter in the Street Fighter series; it’s possible Nicki chose her for her characters strength.

I think these two records are going to really hit for Nicki, who SOME believe has fallen behind Cardi B in the race to be the “Hottest Female MC” in the game (why does there only need to be one? Can’t they both be doing great?).

In a very revealing interview with Zane Lowe of Beats 1, Nicki addressed Cardi directly, saying,

“Shoutout to Cardi and all the female rappers who are doing their thing…The only thing with Cardi that really, really, really hurt my feelings was the first interview she did after ‘MotorSport’ came out… With ‘MotorSport,’ I kinda felt ambushed.”

She added, “I have never seen her show me genuine love in an interview. I just see how many girls wish they had been on a song with Nicki Minaj.”

Cardi also addressed those rumours in a recent interview with Beats 1 last week,

“I really feel like fans and people, they really want to see that happen because it’s really entertaining. To see people beef is entertaining. I remember when Nicki and Remy [Ma] were beefing and everybody was tuning in like, ‘Ooh, what’s next?’”

She added, “I don’t really have the time for that. If you’ve not f**ked my man or you’re not taking my money from me then I don’t really give a fuck about you. People just want to pin us [together] because it’s entertainment, but they don’t want to handle their own beef.”

Nicki’s most recent comments will likely warrant a response from Cardi I’m sure.

Personally, I like both records. I think they are much better than some of the songs Nicki has released the last few years (more on that later), but forget me, what do her fans think?

This may be the first real taste of music that we’ve heard from Nicki for 2018, but let’s not sleep on the music she both put out and was featured on last year.

She joined Yo Gotti on the club banger, “Rake It Up” and the hit song, “The Way Life Goes” with rapper Lil Uzi Vert.

Nicki also teamed up with Migos and Cardi B on the record, “Motorsport” and prior to that we hadn’t had a Nicki single since “Changed It”, “Regret in Your Tears” and the Remy Ma diss track, “No Frauds”.
