Billboard says, “’The Champion’ gives the single corresponding visuals that honour an encompassing range of athletes, students and soldiers alike.”

According to Refinery, “The video captures some of the most significant cultural moments from the past 100 years, including protests at the Berlin Wall, footage from the Civil Rights movement, and a nod to #MeToo. Additionally, “The Champion” features professional and aspiring athletes.”  The video also pays tribute to ‘female empowerment’ and showcases clips of various athletes including professional surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost her left arm during a shark attack in 2003.

Throughout the video, we see Carrie appear in both the studio recording, footage from her American Idol days (2005, Season 4 auditions) and running on a trail as well as working out, showing strength and determination.

The song officially debuted during the Super Bowl in February when the Eagles played the Patriots.

In the last few months, Carrie has had to fight her own battles when she fell in her home and received 40 stitches in her face and had wrist surgery.

The song delivers inspirational and encouraging words.

“I am invincible, unbreakable
Unstoppable, unshakeable
They knock me down, I get up again
I am the champion
You’re gonna know my name
You can’t hurt me now
I can’t feel the pain
I was made for this, yeah, I was born to win
I am the champion”

Check out Ludacris’ verse … talk about empowering.

“The C is for the courage I possess through the drama
H is for the hurt but it’s all for the honor
A is for my attitude working through the patience
Money comes and goes so the M is for motivation
Gotta stay consistent, the P is to persevere
The I is for integrity, innovative career
The O is optimistic, open and never shut
And the N is necessary ’cause I’m never giving up
See they ask me how I did it, I just did it from the heart
Crushing the competition, been doing it from the start
They say that every champion is all about his principles”
