I want to start off by saying this: when I first began writing this blog I found it to be a daunting task, because Justin’s career can really be broken up into two (and possibly 3 depending on where his new project Man of the Woods goes) categories: *NSYNC & post-NSYNC.

Along with Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick and JC Chasez, Justin’s group *NSYNC would go onto to become one of the most successful boy bands of all time selling over 70 million albums worldwide, several Top 10 hits and memories that several 80s and 90s babies will cherish for a lifetime.

You also can’t talk about *NSYNC without mentioning some of their biggest hits such as, ‘Bye Bye Bye’, ‘Tearin’ Up My Heart’, ‘I Want You Back’ and ‘Gone’.

But, let’s step away from Justin’s *NSYNC days and take a look at the Top 5 highlights of his life and career since those boy band days.

JUSTIN APPEARS ON PUNK’D (2003)

MTV
MTV

Back in 2003, Ashton Kutcher created a prank show created to trick celebrities and his first victim (along with Frankie Muniz) was none other than Justin Timberlake.

The scenario that Justin found himself in was that he was told he owed nearly $1 million in back taxes and a fake group of US agents (actors hired for the show) came to his house and began confiscating his possessions…including his dogs, which illicit an emotional response from Justin (cue ‘Cry Me A River’).

Justin would go on to team up with Kutcher to prank Kelly Osbourne a few episodes later, making him the first celeb to appear on the show twice.

If you’re a celebrity, getting Punk’d by Ashton Kutcher is truly an honour and Justin holds a special place being the first.

JUSTIN PERFORMS AT THE SUPERBOWL (2004)

Probably one of the most infamous moments in television history occurred back in 2004 during the SuperBowl Halftime Show.

Janet Jackson was the headliner and she invited Timberlake to join her on stage to perform his record, ‘Rock Your Body’; the two previously worked together when *NSYNC opened for Janet’s Velvet Rope Tour back in the late 90s.

Jackson's wardrobe malfunction is the indelible memory of the last Super Bowl in Houston, overshadowing a thrilling win by the New England Patriots in 2004 and forever changing how the NFL handles halftime performances. No need to go into full detail once again but we all know what happened after Justin sung, “Imma have you naked by the end of this song” and tore off a piece of Janet’s costume (let’s just say a nearly $600 million fine by the FCC that was later rescinded).

Justin will get the opportunity to create a very different SuperBowl memory after being named as the headliner for the Halftime show on February 4th.

Would be really cool if Janet joined him right?

JUSTIN’S APPEARANCES ON ‘SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE’ (2006-2013)

Justin Timberlake is part of an illustrious group of celebrities who have hosted Saturday Night Live more than five times; that list includes but is not limited to Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin, Christopher Walken, Drew Barrymore, Steve Martin and Chevy Chase.

Let’s take a look back at some of his more memorable appearances on the sketch comedy show.

JUSTIN DANCES WITH BEYONCE (2008)

During a 2008 episode of SNL, Justin would appear as one of Queen Bey’s backup dancers in a skit where he dressed up in a leotard and danced to her song, ‘Single Ladies’.

In an interview JT gave to Katie Couric of CBS at the time, he explained that he donned the leotard worn in the skit, walked into Beyonce’s dressing room and told her he and SNL cast members Andy Samberg and Bobby Moynihan would play her backup dancers and she replied, “I can’t look anywhere by your face right now.”

In a separate interview that Beyonce gave to Ellen DeGeneres, she said [about Justin],

“I just can’t believe how hilarious he is…He showed up. He had his leotard and his pumps and his robe, and he opened it up … just letting it all hang out. I’m like, ‘OK, Justin …’ Why are his legs more beautiful than any woman’s?”

SNL DIGITAL SHORTS WITH ‘THE LONELY ISLAND’

On several hilarious occasions, Justin and Andy Samberg would collaborate on these incredible music videos, that ranged from a ummm, “love” for moms, a sexual let’s call it, experience with Lady Gaga and a Christmas gift in a box that is NSFW.

Watch those videos below!

JUSTIN & JAY-Z GO ON TOUR (2013)

In the summer of 2013, Justin would team up with rapper Jay-Z as the two co-headlined the Legends of the Summer Stadium Tour.

The tour supported Justin’s album, The 20/20 Experience and Jay-Z’s ‘Magna Carta Holy Grail’.

Legends of the Summer kicked off in Toronto on July 17th at the Rogers Centre and would make stops in New York, Chicago, Boston and Philadelphia before wrapping up in Miami in August.

The tour’s set list included the two performing their own hits such as Jay-Z’s ’99 Problems’, ‘I Just Wanna Love You’ and ‘I.Z.Z.O.’ and Justin’s ‘SexyBack’. ‘Mirrors’ and ‘Senorita’. The two would also perform their collaboration, ’Suit & Tie’ – the lead single from Justin’s 20/20 Experience album.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE…THE FAMILY MAN

Now, it’s easy to look at Justin Timberlake’s life and focus solely on his music career (it IS impressive), but I’m willing to guess that if you were to ask him what he’s most proud of, he’d say his family.

In 2012, Justin married long-time girlfriend, actress Jessica Biel; their wedding was held in Italy and was attended by Jimmy Fallon and Andy Samberg.

On their second wedding anniversary, Justin shared this picture of himself and Jessica sitting on a bench, captioned with a Ferris Bueller quote, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

Three later in 2015, the two would reveal that they were expecting their first child together and a few short months later, Silas Randall Timberlake was born.
