Ed Sheeran received an MBE from Prince Charles when he recently visited Buckingham Palace earlier this week, which now makes Ed a member of the ‘Most Excellent Order of the British Empire’.

In place of Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles honoured Ed.  Now, although Ed was not given the name of Sir or Knight, instead he chatted with Prince Charles.

Ed told BBC, “He was asking me if I was still selling lots of records, and I told him I’ve got a concert in New York tomorrow.  He was quite surprised I was flying after this.”

Ed even told Charles how his late grandfather (Bill, who in 2013, passed away) was a ‘massive royalist’.  Ed explains, “He had all the commemorative plates and stuff and he died on this day four years ago, so it’s actually quite a nice full circle thing. I guess he’d be pretty proud.”

Could you imagine Ed’s sweet face on a commemorative plate?! I could!

If that wasn’t enough… Ed revealed that if asked by Prince Harry and soon-to-be-wife Meghan Markle, if he would perform at their wedding, he’d say yes!

When asked if he would perform, “Yeah, why not?!” Ed says.
