By now you’ve heard about the devastating hurricanes that have ravaged parts of the Caribbean and the United States, (not to mention the flooding in parts of Africa and the Philippines).

Well, in order to help the Toronto Blue Jays announced that they will be making a donation to the Canadian Red Cross in order to assist hurricane relief efforts.

The team said in a statement, “The Toronto Blue Jays are deeply saddened by the widespread hurricane devastation currently impacting the United States and the Caribbean…To aid in the humanitarian response, the club will be lending support to its baseball families and affected communities in these regions.”

The team will donate $1 from every ticket sale from Monday’s home game against the Baltimore Orioles.

Florida is expected to get hit hard this weekend by Hurricane Irma.

The Jays spring training home is in Dunedin, Florida, which is also home to their Class-A affiliate team.
