It’s the first weekend after the summer and you might think that things would slow down here in Toronto but that’s not the case with there being many events happening in the 6ix this weekend.

Take a look at some of the fun things to do this weekend!

The 42nd Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) kicked off on September 7th (through the 17th) here in Toronto which means we’ll not only be treated to some possible future Oscar-nominated films, but their A-list stars!

Kicking off the festival this year will be the movie Borg/McEnroe which stars Shia LaBeouf, Sverrir Gudnason and Stellan Skarsgård.

Other films scheduled to be screened include, The Carter Effect, a basketball documentary about former Toronto Raptor Vince Carter; Drake is an executive producer on the project.

Both Matt Damon and George Clooney will be here to promote their movie “Suburbicon”, which Matt starred and George directed.

Other celebrities scheduled to make TIFF appearances this year include: Idris Elba, Jessica Chastain, Christian Bale, Halle Berry, Jim Carrey, Benedict Cumberbatch & many more!

If it feels like The Weeknd has been here in Toronto a lot this year, well he has (not that we’re are complaining).

He brought his Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour to Toronto back in May where he brought out Drake…

Drake then returned the favour by bringing him out during his OVO Fest show last month, and now he’s back for the second phase of his Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour.
