Charlie Puth stopped by TODAY where he spoke about his sophomore album.  His new album will be called Voice Notes and it will be available this fall.

When asked the meaning behind the name, Charlie says it’s because he mainly uses his phone’s Voice Notes app to help him create his songs.  “I’m really bad at writing music notes down.  When I have an idea, I just record it on my phone and then I go to the studio and break it down.”

Charlie went on to say that he’s producing his entire album and while on tour with Shawn Mendes, he may preview a few songs to his fans.  He also says that his album is almost complete.

Alex Ficquette from TODAY told Billboard, “I think what stands out most about this one is the wide range of fans. You’ve got sorority sisters from college who are on summer vacation together all the way to moms and dads. It runs the spectrum of all ages, and they’re just as passionate,” on Charlie’s singles ‘Suffer’ and ‘Attention’.
