As we inch closer and closer to summer, things are beginning to heat up here in Toronto with a lot of really cool events and festivals happening in the 6ix.

Here’s a look at some of the best things to do in Toronto this weekend (June 2-4).

 

THE MAC & CHEESE FESTIVAL

My mouth is already drooling at the thought of this food festival which is back in Toronto for the third year in a row.

There are all different types of mac & cheese for you to try from over 50 different vendors. There are some new activities this year including a Cheese Market, a Kid’s Village and many more.

You can also watch people compete for a $5000 cash price when they vie for the Catelli People’s Choice Award for Mac and Cheese.

The festival takes place at Ontario place. Admission is FREE but you will need to pay for food.

Friday, June 2, 2017: 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Saturday, June 3, 2017: 1:00 p.m.- 11:00 p.m.
Sunday, June 4, 2017: 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

FIELD TRIP AT FORT YORK

This year’s festival has an exciting lineup that includes Broken Social Scene, Phoenix, Feist, A Tribe Called Red and many more!

TORONTO FUNK & SOUL FESTIVAL

You know where Bruno Mars gets his funky, soulful style from? Well, it’s from artists like Prince, James Brown as well as some of Motown’s greats!

The Toronto Funk and Soul Festival will showcase Canada’s growing funk, soul and dance scene with an after festival party from DJs Smooth & G-Nice!

It takes place this Saturday at 9PM at The Pilot.

TORONTO FESTIVAL OF CLOWNS

 

I know, I know. Your first thought when you see clowns is to say “NOPE!”

I get that. But you should really give this event a try.

The Toronto Festival of Clowns isn’t meant to give you nightmares, but rather to showcase the incredible talent of some world class clowns.

Check out some sketch comedy, high flying acts and just have an all-around good time (including lots of laughs!) at this year’s festival which began on Wednesday and continues right through the weekend at The Factory Theatre.

DUNDAS WEST FEST

 

This Saturday-only festival will highlight one of Toronto’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.

Check out some of the unique local hot spots, coffee shops and even do a little shopping at one of the clothing vendors.

It takes place this Saturday from 11AM to 10PM.
