Ever since Selena Gomez announced that the new Netflix series ’13 Reasons Why’ was being renewed for a second season, many are wondering if whether or not Selena might make an appearance.

Amy Hargreaves, who plays Mrs. Jenson, Clay’s mom, doubts that will happen in the next season.  She told ABC that Selena herself once said that, “it would become so much more about Selena Gomez and not about the story.”  Amy also says, “It would kinda distract from the main story so I can’t imagine that she would pop up for a cameo, but who knows? You never know.”

In case you haven’t watched, 13 Reasons Why is about a student named Hannah Baker (played by Katherine Langford) who commits suicide.  She leaves behind a series of tapes that go into detail which include the 13 reasons why she committed suicide and who exactly is to blame.

Selena, along with her mom, Mandy Teefey bought the rights to Jay Asher‘s young adult novel, 13 Reasons Why, which was published back in 2007 and both planned to turn the novel into a movie, with Selena being the star.  However, according to the Hollywood Reporter, during an interview with Selena, she explained why she decided to take on the role of executive producer, “A book is frightening for me because I know the cult following it has, which is the reason why I didn’t want to be in it.”

Amy said working with Selena was great.  She gushed, “She’s just a lovely girl.  She’s a young woman who’s very smart and very talented, obviously, and very driven.”

Their story isn't over. Season 2 of #13ReasonsWhy is coming.
