Bachelor alum Chris Soules was arrested and charged early Tuesday (Apr. 25) morning after allegedly leaving the scene of a deadly car crash.

According to The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred near Aurora, Iowa on Monday (Apr. 24) night at 8 pm. Police officers on the scene explained that a truck collided into the rear of a tractor trailer, causing both cars to land in the roadside ditch.

Early reports indicate that while alcoholic beverages were found in the car, Chris was not charged with driving under the influence. TMZ also reported that the 35-year-old farmer, who is originally from Arlington, Iowa, was driving his Chevy pickup truck, a vehicle he constantly flaunts all over social media.

 

 

According to local news outlet KWWL, the man driving the tractor was taken in an ambulance to the hospital, where he later succumb to his injuries. Chris reportedly fled the accident on foot.

The former reality star has yet to comment on the accident and his subsequent arrest.

Chris started his reality television career in 2014 as a contestant on the 10 th season of The Bachelorette. After failing to capture Andi Dorfman’s heart, producers gave Chris another change to find love as “The Bachelor” in 2015. He gave his final rose to Whitney Bischoff but the couple broke off their engagement in May 2015. He also competed on season 20 of Dancing With The Stars.
