Research says that Marvin Gaye’s ‘Let’s Get It On’ definitely gets a lot more plays during snowstorms. And by that we mean, snow equals baby making season.

As Mashable writes, data from hookup app Hinge, tells us that people’s favourite activity during snowstorms is rated R. They write, “Dating app Hinge told us that yesterday in New York City they saw twice the amount of usual activity starting around 4 p.m. The surge was in advance of the massive winter storm — dubbed ‘Stella’ by the Weather Channel — that was predicted to hit the city. A last minute search for blizzard buddies, no doubt.”

Tuesday’s ‘snowarmageddon’ wasn’t the only time this happened. In late January, the app also saw a similar uptick in users, “It also happened during the winter storm (dubbed “Juno” by the Weather Channel), which hit the city in late January. That caused a 27 percent spike the day before the storm, and a 47 percent increase the day of the storm.”

So the next time the snow starts falling, take a look outside and see if you can spot any travellers braving the storm to find their snow buddy.
