Mariah Carey performed live on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest and …. things didn’t turn out well for the diva

While performing her 1991 hit, Emotions, Mariah seemed to be on the frustrated side seeing as how she was struggling to keep up with the pre-recorded music and letting her audience know, “We’re missing some of these vocals, but it is what it is.”  Soon after she finished performing, Mariah gave her opinion on her own performance saying, “I’m trying to be a good sport here! That was … amazing.”

Her second song, We Belong Together didn’t go well either.  While she was “singing” Mariah kept lowering her mic, which led fans to believe she was lip-synching, since the music and vocals kept playing in the background.

So what really happened last night? According to Nicole Perna, a spokeswoman for Mariah, she says that there were ‘technical difficulties’ and there was nothing she (Mariah) could do to continue with the performance given the circumstances.

While Mariah began to walk off stage, she spoke one last time to her fans saying, “Guess it doesn’t get any better thank this!”
And of course, like any true diva … Mariah’s reaction to it all …

Afterwards, host Ryan Seacrest said, “No matter what Mariah does, the crowd loves it.” Yeah not so sure this time around, Ryan!
