Hosts Gigi Hadid and Jay Pharoah were awkward, Ariana Grande took home the nights biggest award, Selena Gomez delivered a powerful speech, and Drizzy debutted his ‘Drake vs Bench Press’ Taylor Swift response ad for Apple Music.

Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj brought the sexy to the show when they performed their single, ‘Side to Side’.

James Bay slowed things down, but left the audience with chills when he performed his mega-hit ‘Let It Go’.

Hip-hop made had an impact on the night as new father DJ Khaled brought out Future, Rick Ross, August Alsina and Nicki Minaj (who performed twice) to perform his single, ‘Do You Mind’.

Toronto was well represented as The Weeknd delivered a vocal masterpiece, and all it took was a microphone and a guitar for Shawn Mendes to prove that at 18, he’s just getting started. He performed his smash hit, ‘Treat You Better’.

Winners of Collaboration of the Year (for their song ‘Work From Home’ with Ty Dolla $ign) Fifth Harmony performed their recent single, ‘That’s My Girl’.

Mother Monster, Lady Gaga, as she always seems to do, delivered the night’s most emotional and powerful performance when she sung her Joanne single, ‘Million Reasons’.

Closing out the show with a bang, Maroon 5 and Kendrick Lamar took the stage and performed their collaboration ‘Don’t Wanna Know’!
