Netflix announced that Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery have been added to the cast of Stranger Things.

Sink will play ‘Max’ who is described as, “A tough and confident 13-year-old [girl]… with a complicated history and a difficult relationship with her stepbrother, Billy.”

Montgomery will play ‘Billy’, a “muscular, overconfident 17-year-old. He’s so captivating and edgy that there are rumors flying around that he killed someone at a school he attended in the past.”

Sink’s credits include a Broadway production of Annie and she starred alongside Helen Mirren in The Audience; she’s also been on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, The Americans and Blue Bloods.

Montgomery will star in the reboot of Power Rangers where he will play ‘Jason’ (the Red Ranger).

Here’s what else we know about Season 2 of Stranger Things:

  • Season 2 will take place in 1984, a year after the first season,
  • There will be nine episodes this season, up from eight last season
  • According to executive producer Shawn Levy, the show will centre around the mythology of Upside Down
  • According to David Harbour (Chief Hopper) we will see “justice for Barb” in Season 2.
