Two Gay Penguins Leave Breeding Program for a Better Life

The Berlin Zoo’s European Conservation Program (EEP) conducts a breeding program to preserve the life of baby King penguins, but two penguins, Stan and Olli weren’t having it.

According to Berlin Zoo spokeswoman Christiane Reiss, “Olli and Stan [are] gay, as far as we know. They never bred. And when it came to courtship, they only mated with one another.”

So what do you do with two gay penguins who are in a program designed for making babies?…You send them off to Hamburg Zoo to let them be themselves of course.

Stan and Olli were sent to Hamburg Zoo where they will live out their days with an all male penguin squad and mingle with other gay penguins. There are two named Juan and Carlos, and I can’t wait to see their sitcom with Stan and Olli where they all get an apartment together in New York.
