An Easter egg hunt, that wasn’t Game of Thrones themed, saw blood shed and trampling in the name of capturing precious eggs.

A PEZ sponsored Easter egg hunt broke out into chaos after one thousand people showed up to the event, much more than the organizers anticipated. PEZ had laid out 10,000 eggs across three different fields and set up start times for different age groups. But the parents had no time for these ridiculous rules and stormed the fields in the name of finding chocolate. Parents ran across all three fields collecting all the eggs they could with no regard for the safety of the children the hunt was designed for.

Jennifer Barden-Moore wrote of her experience on the PEZ Facebook page, “My grandson ended up with a bloody [nose] from an ADULT in the 9-12 year old section knocking into him!!!! Where was PEZ personnel?? Where was the safety of our children in your thought process??” Not quite what you’d expect from an Easter egg hunt. PEZ also released a statement addressing the issue. Check it out below:

I think its safe to say that these kids’ parents weren’t the holiest this Easter Sunday. Watch the Connecticut news report below for more details:
