Its been a while since the world has heard from disgraced figure skater Tonya Harding. But we’ll revisit her rise and fall in a new movie called “I, Tonya” that will star Margot Robbie.

Back in the wee olden days of 1994, Tonya Harding was the favourite to win gold in figure skating at the Olympics. As Business Standard summarizes, “A month before the Games, fellow American skater Nancy Kerrigan was attacked at the US Figure Skating Championships. Harding’s ex-husband and one of her bodyguards hired someone to break Kerrigan’s legs ahead of the competition, forcing her to withdraw. Harding won the competition. She pleaded guilty in March 1994 to conspiring to hinder prosecution in the attack and was ultimately banned from the US Figure Skating Association for life.” At the Olympics Kerrigan went on to win silver, while Harding finished in 8th place. Watch the iconic raw footage below:

As EW reported Monday, Suicide Squad and Wolf of Wall Street star, Margot Robbie will play Tonya Harding in “I, Tonya.” They also wrote that, “The script was written by Steven Rogers, who based it on hours of interviews with both Harding and her ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly.” With the recent OJ news and now Tonya Harding, maybe Biggie is coming back to life, or maybe a Rugrats remake, or will Clinton be back in the White House???
