Is the price of the average wedding finally going DOWN?  A study last year found it was over $31,000, but a new study by WeddingWire.com found it’s now just under $29,000.  Here are six more stats from the survey . . .



1. The average engagement ring now costs $4,758, and the average honeymoon is $3,882. And those are both on TOP of the cost for the actual wedding. So if you include them, it jumps to over $38,000.

2. The most expensive part of the actual wedding is the venue at $8,798, followed by the caterer at $6,877 . . . the band, $3,848 . . . the photographer, $2,435 . . . and the rehearsal dinner, $1,935.

3. The most popular day to propose last year was Christmas, followed by Valentine’s Day, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Day.

4. The most popular month to get married is June, followed by May, September, October, and August.

5. The most expensive city to get married in was New York, where the average wedding cost just over $47,000.

6. And the most popular first dance song last year was “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran.
