DAD CANCER

I know I post a lot of really heartwarming and touching stories, but this one hit me way harder than the others; it’s the story of Charlie Kwentus. Get ready and grab a tissue, you’ll need it.

Please meet 42 year old Charlie Kwentus and his family, wife Courtney and their two daughters Maren (9) and Zoe (13).

FAMILY CANCER

Several years ago, Charlie was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After several years of surgery, he decided that he wanted to stop all treatments and focus on spending time with his family.

He told KSDK, “I just decided, and my family backed me on it, that it was time to quit, you know, quality vs. quantity”.

Since that decision, the family have spent as much quality time together as they possibly could. After returning from a three week road trip, Annie’s Hope, a non-profit organization that helps bereaving children (that is children who are dealing with the loss of a loved one) reached out the family and wanted to give them another very special memory.

They arranged for the girls to get their hair and makeup done and provided the family with a limosine to a country club where they had a private dinner and Charlie was able to share a special dance with his girls.

CANCER 2

This was special for him, because as he put it, “I won’t be able to walk them down the aisle at their weddings, but yes, I will get this”.

Watch their beautiful story in the video below. Amazing.
