P. Diddy is launching a new music-themed cable network. He is planning to create “Revolt”, a musical network with an urban style that will have a heavy focus on music videos instead of original programming. Read the details after the jump:

According to BraodcastingandCable.com, one source described the network – which Diddy is hoping will start broadcasting on December 12, 2012 – as similar to the “old days of MTV“.

A Time Warner Cable spokesman revealed the company has held “some discussions” with Diddy about Revolt, but a Comcast representative wouldn’t confirm that.

Last year Diddy was crowned the wealthiest artist in hip-hop – with a fortune of $475 million thanks to his Sean John clothing brand, Bad Boy Worldwide record label and his vodka brand - beating fellow music star Jay-Z to the title in a list compiled by Forbes magazine.

The Unit from “Jersey Shore“ who is about to be charged on drug possession charges in New Jersey didnt let that get in the way of calling into the Roz and Mocha Show –  The newest MTV reality star was arrested last summer at the “Jersey Shore” party house in Seaside Heights — when cops claim they found the drug “Special K” on his person. Special K is a hallucinogen, similar to PCP.

The Unit is also in hot water over not holding back about speaking his mind, thank goodness he was the same way with KiSS 92.5 – you’ve gotta listen to this – He was such an awesome guest and great guy!

The numbers are in for Thursday’s Season 5 premiere of Jersey Shore. The ratings were ok but … they’re nothing to fist-pump about — at least compared to the Season 4 premiere.  Thursday’s show at 10 p.m.drew in 7.6 million total viewers, with a 7.2 rating amongst the 18-34 year old demographic, which the show targets.  By comparison, Season 4 kicked off in August with 8.8 million total viewers and an 8.2 rating in the target demographic.

In the past, different parts of MTV would make “best of” lists, but the network wanted to establish a franchise that brought all its online and TV arms together and emphasized MTV’s music roots, said Amy Doyle, the network’s chief of music programming. They hope to make this an annual award.

Perry topped Adele after a spirited discussion among MTV’s internal panel of experts, the network said Thursday. Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” was chosen top song of 2011, said Doyle.

MTV also declared Skrillex its electronic dance music artist of the year over David Guetta.

Seven panelists made the final choice, and their deliberations were featured in MTV programming this week.

“Rolling in the Deep” was an obvious selection as top song, Doyle said. Runners-up were Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass” and Rihanna’s “We Found Love.”

“I loved the song the moment I wrote it,” Adele said. “The melody and the beat added some conviction to it. I think that’s why people connected with it.”

Perry’s achievement of tying Michael Jackson’s “Bad” as the only albums to yield five No. 1 singles was particularly impressive, Doyle said. Along with the title cut, “California Gurls,” ”E.T.,” ”Firework” and “Last Friday Night” (T.G.I.F.) all topped the charts. Her current single “The One That Got Away” could beat the record if it reaches the #1 spot before years end.

“You just really felt her presence in pop culture throughout the year,” Doyle said.

Radaronline.com is reporting that everyone’s favorite Guidos and Guidettes will be shooting the fourth season of Jersey Shore between April 18th and June 20th with the possibility of the crew returning to Seaside Heights for the Memorial Day long weekend (May 30th) to shoot some more scenes.

TMZ reported that the newest housemate, Deena has is looking into trademarking ”Deena Nicole” under the category of wearable garments and clothing. If everything goes according to plan, you could be sporting your own “Deena Nicole” t-shirt, or hat…or underwear (ummm, no thanks).

Jersey Shore fans will be happy to know that your favorite Guidos and Guidette’s are heading to the motherland for Season 4!

Jersey Shore is heading to Italy for season four. TMZ.com reports that plans started two months ago, when MTV began working to secure visas for the cast and crew.

MTV confirmed the switch-up, saying, “While the stateside Jersey Shore locales have become iconic for our audience . . . Europe is a fresh spin on a show that continues to reach new heights for us. The cast is headed to the birthplace of the culture they love and live by. We can’t wait to see what erupts as a result.”

Producers have reportedly already lined up some of  Vinny’s Italian relatives to host the gang for an “authentic Guadagnino dinner.”

Not everyone is excited about the news; UNICO — a large Italian American interest group — released a statement blasting MTV’s decision. They said, “It will not only hurt Italians but all Americans . . . their outrageous, reprehensible behavior will make us look like buffoons and bimbos.”

Season three of Jersey Shore, which is airing now, continues to break its own ratings records. Last week’s episode became the most-watched series broadcast in MTV history with 8.9 million viewers
