Nick Cannon has admitted what really happened when he was hospitalized earlier this month with “mild kidney failure,” (as Mariah Carey put it).  “They thought it was kidney stones…then a kidney infection,” Cannon said on his New York radio show.  “They found out my kidneys weren’t functioning well.”  He added, “We didn’t want to say ‘kidney failure’ so people would think I gotta get new kidneys and Gary Coleman and all that stuff, so we said ‘mild kidney failure.’”  Now he’s drinking a lot of water and has a “couple more procedures” to go through.  “Overall, I’m good,” he said.  “I’m feeling 100 percent.”

Nick Cannon has been released from a Los Angeles hospital where he was receiving treatment for what Mariah Carey described as …  ”mild kidney failure.”  In a statement, Nick’s rep said, “Nick Cannon was released over the weekend to be with his family.  He is resting and recovering at home and would like to thank everyone who has expressed concern, well wishes and prayers.”  Nick plans to return to work on January 17.

The ‘America’s Got Talent’ host was taken to a hospital in Aspen, Colorado, today with abdominal pains and is now being treated by medical staff for the condition. Writing on her official website, Mariah revealed: “We’re trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful. They tried to kick me out of the hospital but here I am pon de bed with Mr. C. (sic)” “We’re doing OK but we’re stranded in Aspen. I know, we could be in a lot worse places, but the truth is as long as we’re together, we’re OK.”

She added: “I’m not trying to make light out of the situation because it’s a serious moment that’s very tough on all of us. So please keep us and our family in your prayers.”

At this time there is no word on what caused the kidney failure.

The website Showbiz411.com reported last week that Mariah and Justin Bieber would perform “All I Want for Christmas Is You” on last night’s episode of “The X Factor.”  But now the website reports that Mariah priced herself out of the gig.  Apparently, the set-up that the diva required for the performance, including a band, dancers, back-up singers, makeup and lighting, would’ve cost around $300,000, which was too much for the show’s budget.  A source tells the website, “Mariah hasn’t performed live in about a year.  She wanted to make sure everything was perfect.”

Justin and Mariah’s remake of Carey’s 1994 hit, “All I Want For Christmas” has been causing a stir since it was released. In the vid, Mariah is dressed in a sexy Santa dress while Bieber and his friends are going through a Macy’s department store. But now viewers are speaking out about a few racy moments in the video which appear to be awkward as the 17 year-old Bieber appears to be flirting with the 41 year-old Carey.

One of the comments that appeared on VEVO says, “The undertones of this video is quite creepy actually, a 41 year old cougar dressed as a stripper Santa, and a 17 year old boy trying to act like a gangster. And product placement throughout. It makes Christmas a cringe worthy fest. What happen to traditional old Christmas?”

People who saw the video on NBC also had negative reactions. One wrote, “This video was highly inappropriate for the viewers of NBC’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center. My husband & I were both appalled at seeing this on prime time tv for families. Most folks want heart-warming Christmas festivities, not sexy (verging on pedophilia) overtures.”

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon proudly showed off their babies Moroccan and Monroe (Roc and Roe) on 20/20 on Friday night during an interview with Barbara Walters. More pics plus video after the jump.

Carey told Walters about being a first-time mom and elaborated that after her difficult pregnancy, she doesn’t intend on having any more children.

Mariah said:

“I don’t think I understood the enormity and the magnitude of what it really does to your body. It’s not just, ‘Oh, you don’t look pretty and you have a bump…’ I was carrying two babies. Unless somebody’s been through it, it’s difficult to understand what I went through because my pregnancy was very unique in terms of what happened to me.”

Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon have finally revealed the names of ‘dem babies’ who were born in Los Angeles on Saturday.

Did they go all crazy celebrity kid names on us? Do we have another Apple on our ends? Well, here’s what they went with…

Their son is named Moroccan Scott Cannon. Scott is Nick’s middle name, as well as his grandmother’s maiden name.

The top tier of Mariah’s New York City apartment is called the Moroccan Room, because of the Moroccan-inspired decor. It’s also the place where Nick proposed to his wife, overlooking Manhattan!

Nice story and all, but I’m gonna give Moroccan about a 7 on the crazy kid name scale..

Their daughter’s name is Monroe Cannon. Mariah’s rep says she does not have a middle name because Mariah herself does not have one. Monroe was named after Marilyn Monroe, who has been an inspiration to Mariah her whole life.

In fact, Mariah purchased the Hollywood icon’s white piano from Christie’s auction house and it is in Mariah’s will that the piano will one day go to the Smithsonian.

Monroe is good as a last name, but I’m not too sure about a first name. I’m gonna give that one a 6 on the crazy kid name scale…

My verdict is Mariah and Nick aren’t the craziest, but they’re still celebrities…what do you think of the names?

I was having a discussion with Cash about this yesterday. I think pregnant women are beautiful…HOWEVER – do we really need to see that bare belly?That’s personal. I’m not just talking about celebrities…I’m talking about those ladies and guys who think it’s acceptable to put it on their facebook profile pics etc.  AND can you see that line down Mariah’s belly most women get that when they are prego it’s called the linea nigra.( Everyone has one of these but it becomes more apparent during pregnancy due to your skin stretching across your growing belly) Anyway, it’s gross to look at…really it is. Agree or Disagree….cover up that belly. Take a picture with a cute tight top showing that baby bump…i’m all over that…and I think that looks more beautiful. It leaves everything else to the imagination!
