Here is everything you need to know about the Super Bowl on Sunday:

Bob Costas will open six hours of Super Bowl XLVI pre-game coverage with a live report from Georgia Street in downtown Indianapolis at Noon. 

Matt Lauer will interview President Barack Obama during a special pre-game edition of “Today” airing late Sunday afternoon.

Former Toronto Argonaut Doug Flutie will appear in pre-game segments. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward, two Super Bowl MVPs who each played in last year’s game, will join NBC Sports’ coverage as guest analysts. 

ENTERTAINMENT

Madonna: Bob Costas will interview Madonna during the pre-game before she takes the stage for the Halftime Show.

Red Carpet: Nick Cannon will hosts the pre-game red-carpet coverage. Celebrities expected to attend include: Adam Sandler; Danny Devito, Chris Evans from The Avengers; and random stars of NBC’s new primetime shows. Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton and Carson Daly of The Voice will also walk the carpet. Katharine McPhee of Smash, (which debuts Monday night); and Jessica Simpson of Fashion Star are also on the list of stars expected.

 Live Performances: Lenny Kravitz and The Fray will perform live from the NFL’s Super Bowl XLVI Tailgate Party.

Nicki Minaj’s tour rider includes three buckets of spicy fried chicken and contact lense solution. Her backstage demands have been revealed and it seems the musician is happy to live up to her diva reputation.

As well as the chicken – which she specifies must have “no thighs” and “lots of wings” – Nicki also asks for 2 dozen pink or white roses, two Space Heaters, one gallon of Simply Lemonade, 12 cans of Red Bull and scented candles.

Food is apparently very important to the 29-year-old star and her crew as she requests different items for throughout the day, including scrambled egg whites, turkey bacon, toast, Belgian waffles, strawberries, assorted juices and a large fruit platter for breakfast and a deli tray with turkey breast meat, grilled chicken breast, whole Wheat bread or rolls, yellow mustard and other condiments (seasoned salt, hot sauce) and a large fruit platter with side of mango and one large cheese platter for after the concert.

Despite her excessive requirements, Nicki says she isn’t a diva off stage and insists she takes on a persona when she performs.

She told the publication: “They’re definitely two completely different people. Obviously what I would wear at home is not what I would wear up on stage and I think, when I’m at home it’s a way more introspective character and I think the person people see on stage is anything but. I watch a lot of ‘Judge Judy’. And I watch a lot of ‘Forensic Files. And I cook – I cook spaghetti really, really good; I cook macaroni and cheese really, really good; I cook chicken really, really good.”

Hundreds of friends, family and some famous faces paid tribute to singer Etta James Saturday at the City of Refuge church outside Los Angeles.  Christina Aguilera sang an incredible rendition of one of James’ best known hits, “At Last.”  “There’s a line in this song that says, ‘I found a dream that I could speak to,’” said Aguilera.  “And for me, that dream all my life has been Etta James.  I’ve aspired to sing like her, to be like her, to emulate her notes and her passion and the love for what she did—I could feel it. Out of all the singers I’ve ever heard, she was the one that cut right to my soul and spoke to me.”  A statement from President Barack Obama read, “Etta will be remembered for her legendary voice and her contributions to our nation’s musical heritage.”  James died from complications of leukemia.  She had been diagnosed with chronic leukemia in January 2011.  Court records show the 73-year-old entertainer also suffered from dementia and kidney failure.

“The Insider” reports that Cee Lo Green will be joining Madonna onstage during her half time performance at the Super Bowl, and that he’s been traveling to New York to rehearse with the star for the past two weeks.  Sources tell The Insider that Cee Lo will “bring a new sound to some of Madonna’s classic hits.”  It’s also been widely reported that Madonna will be joined onstage by rappers M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj during half time for a performance of her new single “Give Me All Your Luvin’” but this has not yet been confirmed by the NFL.
