Raise your HAN if you’re excited for the new Solo: A Star Wars Story movie! Puns like that are what you can expect when Damnit Maurie sits down with Paul Bettany for the Roz & Mocha Show to talk about his role in the new film.

Paul plays Dryden Vos who heads up an emerging criminal syndicate. Under Vos’ leadership, the organization quickly gains a reputation for ruthlessness. But as ruthless as Vos is, he is not a crude cutthroat, preferring instead to surround himself with luxury.

“It’s a movie about how Han became Han,” Bethany says of the film. “When I was a kid, I watched the movie in 1977 and it’s the reason I wanted to become an actor. This film chronicles Han’s young life and how he learned to always shoot first.”

When did Paul Bettany geek out first on set? “When I was on set and there was an R2 unit going by with champagne flutes on its head!” Will Star Wars fans have an issue with Han not being played by Harrison Ford? “I’m sure some people will struggle with it but they shouldn’t. This is about how he gains his characteristic and attributes.”

Solo: A Star Wars Story opens May 25th!
