I know that you’ve likely heard (or read) me say this a lot this year, but with just three weeks left in the year, this video is easily my favourite of 2017.

Meet 9 year old George Yionoulis.

George has autism and as a way to help his teacher and classmates understand his behaviour, he created a video (with the help of his family) that has since gone viral.

In the adorable video, George explains that his autism can sometimes allow him to take things literally (“if you say it’s raining ‘cats and dogs’, I might think I’m getting a new pet”).

This brilliant fourth grader is incredibly creative and shows that off making music and even writing code.

George’s mother Lisa Jolley’s wrote in the YouTube description of the My Autism video,

“George’s journey with autism at 9 years old. This is the video he shared with his fourth grade class to help them understand why he behaves the way he does sometimes (during lunch, group activities, recess, etc). This is just his own experience, and should not be taken as a blanket explanation of autism. The original audience was a fourth grade class. Please remember that (and be kind if possible) when commenting. Enjoy!”

George, you’re pretty damn awesome!
