There are some celebrities who are notorious for the dimples: Harry Styles, Gabrielle Union and Miranda Kerr come to mind for me.

It appears that their dimples are so revered and admired that people are having plastic surgery to create ‘natural’ dimples.

It’s all being done in a procedure called, ‘Dimpleplasty’; the procedure can cost you anywhere from $800 to $2,500.

According to Wright Jones, an Atlanta plastic surgeon, ‘Dimpleplasty’ is “a minimally invasive procedure used to create dimples in the face, most commonly within the cheeks.”

Darren Smith, a New York plastic surgeon explained why some people have natural dimples and why others don’t, “When the muscle under the skin flexes, it pulls the skin, creating a dimple. Imagine tugging on the middle of a napkin suspended by its four corners…The reason some people have dimples and others don’t is that they are born with a tight connection between the facial muscles and skin, while others just don’t have this kind of anatomy.”

Below are some examples of people who have had Dimpleplasty from Kim Facial Plastic Surgery in Atlanta.

I’m all for people having the right to do what they want with their bodies, but I’ll say that I would NEVER want to have this procedure done.

What about you?
