Shawn Mendes Ditches The Guitar for Piano As He Covers Ed Sheeran's 'Castle on the Hill'

Shawn Mendes proved in his ‘Mercy’ music video that he is a man of many instruments.  However, instead of the guitar or the drums, he played a piano in front of thousands screaming fans at Capital’s Summertime Ball at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Here’s the twist … he played Ed Sheeran’s ‘Castle On The Hill’ using ONLY his vocals and piano.

After singing ‘Castle on the Hill’ he performed ‘Treat You Better’ from his album, Illuminate. Thanks to that insane, beautiful piano interlude, the guitar-heavy song became even more emotional.

But don’t worry, once Shawn picks up that guitar, the audience will be ready to dry their eyes and dance all night long.
