Liam Payne Drops Debut Solo Single 'Strip That Down'!

Another One Direction member has released a solo single, as Liam Payne just released his debut solo single called ‘Strip That Down’, and it features Quavo of rap group, Migos.

Liam does make a One Direction reference on ‘Strip That Down’ when he sings, “You know, I used to be in 1D (now I’m out, free) / People want me for one thing (that’s not me) / I’m not changing, the way that I (used to be) / I just wanna have fun (and get rowdy).”

Last Thursday, Liam officially made the announcement of a debut single with this shirtless teaser video.

Liam revealed that he got some help from his buddy Ed Sheeran, who helped co-write the track. He spoke to SiriusXM’s The Morning Mashup about how that came about…

Last month, Quavo spoke to Tim Westwood of Capital XTRA about Liam’s single saying, “I just came from a video today…My boy Liam from One Direction. We just shot that. Crazy vid. Crazy visuals. Crazy team. Cool guy, nice guy. It’s going up. I wasn’t even supposed to say that” (check out that full interview below).

Last July, Liam announced that he had signed a solo deal with Capitol Records UK. He said, “I’m really happy to have signed to such a prestigious label as Capitol Records UK. Capitol Records has an amazing history stretching right back before even Frank Sinatra and I’m really looking forward to becoming part of their story.”

In October, he revealed that he had signed to Republic Records in the U.S; a label that has signed some of the biggest names in music, including Drake, Ariana Grande and The Weeknd.

At the time, Republic CEO Monte Lipman spoke to E! News about Liam’s signing, “Being a member of the most successful group of the last decade, Liam has a tremendous opportunity to make an even greater impact on pop culture…We’re honored by Liam’s decision to join Republic Records, and have extremely high expectations for his solo career.”

Liam has already had quite the 2017. Back in March, he and Cheryl Cole welcomed a brand new baby.

Liam is the latest One Direction member to release solo music.

Last week, Harry Styles released his debut solo album, which features the single, ‘Sign of the Times’.

Well all know Zayn dropped his debut album Mind of Mine last year, and has released single, ‘Pillow Talk’, ‘I Don’t Wanna Live Forever’ and ‘Still Got Time’ to name a few.

Niall Horan released ‘This Town’ and last week dropped his second single, ‘Slow Hands’.

Louis Tomlinson released ‘Just Hold On’ with Steve Aoki.
