Another busy week in entertainment with some telling pictures and videos making the rounds online this week. Let’s start it off with some love to our Canadian Olympic athletes.

Have to send a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to all of our Canadian Olympic athletes who represented Canada so well during these Rio Games. Canada did well in the pool, with standout star Penny Oleksiak and on track with 200 meter silver medalist Andre De Grasse performing incredibly well in his first Olympics. Can’t forget Erica Wiebe and Rosie MacLennan who picked up Gold in Rio!

Canada’s Penny Oleksiak also chatted with Roz and Mocha this week, take a listen to that interview HERE

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp have settled their divorce. Amber received $7 million in the settlement and announced that she was donating ALL of it to charity. She released the following statement:

“As described in the restraining order and divorce settlement, money played no role for me personally and never has, except to the extent that I could donate it to charity and, in doing so, hopefully help those less able to defend themselves. As reported in the media, the amount received in the divorce was $7 million and $7 million is being donated.”

She continued, “this is over and above any funds that I have given away in the past and will continue to give away in the future. I know these organizations will put the funds to good use and look forward to continuing to support them in the future. Hopefully this experience results in a positive change in the lives of people who need it the most”.

It was announced that Britney Spears would be performing at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 28th! Britney will drop her new album, Glory, a few days before on August 26th.

In some more Olympics news, the budding ‘bromance’ between Canadian sprinter Andre de Grasse and ‘The Fastest Man in the World’ Usain Bolt is one of the highlights of these Games. Both went head to head in the 100m, 200m and 4X100 relay. The future is bright for Canada’s Andre de Grasse while Usain Bolt remains one of, if not the greatest athlete of all time.

Beef? What beef? Drake squashed any rumours of an issue between himself and Eminem this week when he brought out the ‘Slim Shady’ rapper on stage to perform their song ‘Forever’ while Drake was performing in Detroit on his ‘Summer Sixteen’ Tour.

NBC released a trailer for Season 11 of The Voice featuring new judges Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys who join mainstays Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Season 11 premieres on September 19th!

In one of the stranger stories to come out of the Olympics, US swimmer Ryan Lochte and three of his teammates were accused of lying to authorities about being robbed. Earlier in the week, Lochte claimed that the four men were robbed at gun point at a gas station in Rio. Brazilian authorities have come out and said that the robbery story was fake (it was reported that two of the swimmers with Lochte also revealed that the story was fabricated). Lochte has maintained that his story is true. The whole thing is a real mess.

After lashing out at people leaving mean comments on his Instagram page, Justin Bieber quit Instagram! Before he did though, his ex Selena Gomez criticized him for getting upset with ‘Beliebers’ (you can read that whole story HERE).

No more IG for the Biebs…at least for now.

New Kids on the Block are set to make an appearance on Season 2 of the Netflix series, Fuller House, this according to the Fuller House Twitter page.

Poor Adele, she had to cancel a show in Pheonix because of a cold. It was also revealed that she is NOT performing at the 2017 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Former ‘Criminal Minds’ star Thomas Gibson joined Twitter this week and he immediately addressed his firing from the show in a series of tweets.

Gibson was reportedly fired for kicking a writer during an altercation.

US gymnast Simone Biles is one of the standout performers at these Rio Games. She won 5 medals, including 4 Gold. But if you ask her, one of her biggest highlights will be meeting Zac Efron! After letting it be known that she loved him (who doesn’t?!?), the actor surprised Biles and her other teammates by showing up to Rio! Check out some of the pictures and video.

Lastly, a summer tradition here in Toronto is the Canadian National Exhibition or the CNE. One of the cool things about the two week exhibition are the outrageous foods and this year is no different as guests can try hot dogs with crickets and cereal, and deep fried Reese’s Peanut Buttercups!
