The best day of the week is here!!!!

To anyone who is new to Pet Thursday’s, we would like to introduce you to our favourite organization, Save Our Scruff!!! Save Our Scruff is a non-profit organization that focuses on rescuing dogs and finding them a new home. Here are some of the MANY success stories that they’ve had!!!!

dog 1

Here are REYNA, RENA & RICHIE! These three siblings were recently rescued off death row! All three have been adopted separately and are in their furever homes. That doesn’t stop them from being super involved in each other’s lives! Here they are on their last play date! Thank-you to their parents for putting in the effort and keeping the bond alive!!

Both Scruff Successes, PENNY and ODE were adopted into the same family as cousins. One from Dominican, one from Egypt. It makes no difference to these two street dogs that share the same roots, finding a bond through history. Two peas in a pod, some things never change.

TINY TINA now named SOFIA is such a little superstar now! Once a stray in Mexico, this girl is now living a fabulous lifestyle in Toronto with her mom and pop! This family is adorable!

SHOT GUN! Who’s the third wheel?! Definitely not LOLA! These guys are obsessed ever since adopting! She was one of our first Egypt transports! I think SOS made a good decision to partner up with this side of the world and get some pups to safety and into happy and healthy homes!

dog 5

KEVIN BACON and his little man! This guy was so excited to get a doggy but also accepted the responsibilities! They attend training together and are growing up/learning together. And they are kind of cute.

BLAZE is in his happy ever after. These guys took a chance on this rescue and it looks like it worked out for everyone.

We LOVE hearing about the adorable dogs who have found homes, but now let’s meet some who still need a new home and a family!!!

UMMM SORRY IS THIS PUPPY SMILING?! MUPPET is up for adoption! This Egyptian Baladi is 5 months old and pretty friggin adorable. She has high energy but also cools down for lots and lots and lots (x234) cuddles!! She will lay on top of you until you force her to move. Being a puppy and recent rescue, she will need help with training! She craves human attention which is beneficial to her learning. She has already been crate trained after 3 days, and although doesn’t love getting in one, does not make a sound once inside! She will need help being housetrained and learning basic manners and commands. She very social and loves meeting new people and other animals. She’s nice/friendly to ALL the things! She might show initial nervousness but warms up FAST! She loves the beach and is a total swimmer! She loves when someone will play with her and also enjoys toys! She runs, jumps and prances for affection and will light up any room. She is being fostered in Toronto. If you’re having a hard time resisting her this cute polka-dot girl, fill out an adoption application.

dog 8Meet HENRY IV. He is amount 2 years old Border Collie mix and he is ready for life! He is very active and has LOTS of energy. He benefits from lots of exercise, exploring and adventure. His most favourite thing in the world is water and once he finds himself close to it cannot be separated! He loves to run and is currently going on 1+ hours of running per day. He has great recall and also has learned basic commands like sit and paw. After exerting himself, he simply spoils you with love and is a great dog inside, being more relaxed and easy going. He is amazing being left alone and is also crate trained. He has no problems going in the crate and falls asleep very quickly. He would love an active home with room to explore, whether that means being close to a park or having a nice sized backyard. He also has experienced cottage life and couldn’t be more of a fan. He is super social, loving humans and animals. He is a huge fan of the dog park but sometimes forgets to come back to you as he is super social and excited. He’s happy with life and wants you to be as well. He is very curious and wants to see, hear and smell ALL the things. He just recently had his first run beside his foster who was biking and loved that also. He’s pretty much down for anything you’ll let him be a part of and will benefit from someone who will make him their sidekick. He’s amazing. I’m getting adrenaline just talking about him. If you are interested in adopting this king, fill out an application.

I hope every one of you 16 million who have ever emailed us asking if we have any hypoallergenic dogs are listening. WE GOT YOU! THIS WAS ALL FOR YOU! Meet RUFFLES. Weighing 13lbs, this 10 year old Los Angeles native is up for adoption! This Poodle is a sweetheart and not to mention our first! He is SO low maintenance that we often forget where he is. JK.. that would be completely irresponsible……….. anyways. RUFFLES is low energy, housetrained, and all around very well behaved! RUFFLES acts like any retired fellow, reading the newspaper in the morning and cleaning the driveway all day long even when it isn’t dirty. Okay, I’m sorry, this is not true at all but has always been an observation of mine. BUT he would LOVE to be a part of tasks like this in his perfect furever home. He wants to be with you as a companion dog. Sitting at your feet during morning routines and sitting with you while you check off your to-dos. If you can’t tell — he’s not going to be your active, jogging dog that can’t sit still. He’s kind of a cat, yes. That is a perfect way to describe him. Adopt this cat!! He gets along with dogs and kids!

If you’re looking for a snuggle partner then SKY is the girl for you! She’s very low maintenance and just loves to laze on the couch. Outside she gets very excited but also very nervous, and we’re working on her confidence as well as her leash skills. She’s very smart and has picked up many basic commands. She LOVES to cuddle and be with you all the time and she’s very good with cats. She tends to get jealous and loves to have all your attention all the time. She needs someone with patience and tenacity to help her to continue to work on her confidence. She also has hip dysplasia and comes with special care instructions for the rest of her life, possibly needing surgery down the road. She is special and deserves a special home.

tunaTUNA is a very sweet little fish but she has learned to get what she wants and when she wants it. She does this by growling and/or pretending she’s going to bite. So far it has worked with many people and has started to be her go to. Although it is a complete bluff and she has yet to follow through on this behaviour, it allows her to control most people around her. This leads into the most dominant issue: control anxiety which is often mistaken for separation anxiety but VERY different. This anxiety is brought on when she doesn’t get her way. She will whine, pace and bark if she sees something she wants but can’t get it. Basically.. a temper tantrum. Jess and Brent at Complete K9 Care are working on correcting both of these behaviours so this little fish can have an easier time finding her forever home. They are showing her that these behaviours will not give her what she wants, and she is responding quite quickly! She will need a home where this will be worked on daily, and not forgotten about. She is young and very impressionable.. and eager to please! She is looking for a foster that can follow the structure set up by Complete K9 Care, in order for her to progress!
