Backstreet Boys wish One Direction and The Wanted best of luck. Nick Carter, A. J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, and Kevin Richardson have reunited to record a new album in honor of their 20th anniversary and the group knows a thing or two about being a boy band and sticking around. Howie gave advice to boybands after them.

He said:

“Just stay on your own path. We’ve stayed true to ourselves and here we are 20 years later. Just stay on your own path and you do your own kind of thing. And we all wish them the best of luck.”

Meanwhile, One Direction doesn’t seem to need any advice on how to make money. According to Simon Cowell, the group has earned over $162 million since they were ejected from The X Factor. Their new single, “Live While We’re Young” was just leaked from their upcoming second album, Take Me Home, due to hit stores on November 13.
